Go Listen, Go Love

My name's Peter. I have way too many jeans. I love music.

The Resistors

Lately I’ve been really bored with music. Browsing and browsing purevolume and myspace gets really tedious and I rarely find anything I can get instantly addicted to. Out of sheer luck I’ve gotten another add on myspace by this Paramore meets Frans Ferdinand UK band. I can’t say anymore about them then to give them a listen! A different sound and it definitely gave me that “charge” I’ve been craving. You know the feeling? Go Listen, Go Love -Petah

Thunderheist

This Toronto/Montreal dual is totally addicting. The song above samples “Sweet Dreams” and kills it with Thunderheist signature beats and vocals. I can’t stop listening to this song!!

Go Listen, Go Love.

April Bender
I often take time looking for new music and rarely do I get adds on myspace from artists whom I end up really liking. April Bender is one of those few. This acoustic guitarist/keyboardist/vocalist really impressed me with her strong voice and catchy melodies. I don’t really know what else to say other than I enjoyed her songs and hopefully you will too. Go Listen, Go Love. -Petah

Fireflies by Search/Rescue

I recently discovered the song So Contagious by Acceptance. Its really old but I love it! Unfortunately the band broke up but they have a “new” band called Search/Rescue. They don’t seem to be as big as Acceptance but coincidentally they have a song that I already LOVE!

The store I worked at bought music chips from some music company and they had REALLY random stuff on it. A lot of the music on the chips I couldn’t find anywhere online. This was one of them. It brings back a lot of memories of all the fun I had at work and all the friends I made there. Hope you guys can appreciate.

Go listen, go love.

The Pipettes
I must love foreign girl bands LOL! This trio from the UK really brings back the 80’s on rollerblades feel. Their songs sound like they should be played constantly at 80’s dinners like Johnny Rockets. Their myspace only seems to have samples of their tunes but definitely check out Pull Shapes. Fun cheery lyrics and well, it makes me feel happy. Simple as that. I’ve been really cheesy lately and just love up beat feel good real good music =) Hope you can appreciate! Go listen, Go love. -Peter

The Plastiscines
I saw this these three fabulous girls at the Mod Club during NXNE opening for Patrick Wolf. They are an amazing girl band from France! Their album About Love is great! I’m currently addicted to Barcelona which can be found on their myspace and I Could Rob You which is the opening track on their album.
During their show they spoke to the crowd in english and it was really funny cause no one really understood them until they switched to French and there was a better reaction lmfao. There were some randoms that shouted out “C’est Magnifique!” which killed me, couldn’t stop laughing!
They are currently going on tour with Cobra Starship so if you’re thinking about grabbing a ticket here is an extra incentive =) They are one of those “feel good” bands I save for rainy days <3

p.s. The link to their album on iTunes on their myspace doesn’t work so just search them on iTunes, you’ll find them

Take Tomorrow

By Butch Walker

This is an old song I used to LOVE! It was like the 3rd most played song on my old school i-pod. The lyrics help me stay grounded when I feel things are fucked up. Here they are:

You got lost, For a while.
You’ve been trying to find a smile.
You got stood up, then you fell down,
and when you needed , there was no one ‘round.
You loved the previews and hate the movie.
You scream at the screen, “Something move me!”
before you start to fade away.

Give me all your fear, Throw it all away.
and think about the good things, no matter what they say,
we’ll take tomorrow baby, yeah,
one day at a time.

You just stare into space,
you found love but it got erased,
you’re on the road with all the stoplights,
and you’re too afraid to turn the wrong from right.
You ate your soul and it made ya fat,
starve yourself from everything else that makes you completely full.
So give me all your fear, throw it all away.
Think about the good things, no matter what they say.
We’ll take tomorrow baby, yeah,
one day at a time.

So you run, so you hide,
and you watched as they die,
they all fell, you could fall too,
or you could sew your wings and try to fly right through.

Give me all your fear, throw it all away.
Think about the good things, no matter what they say.
We’ll take tomorrow baby, yeah,
One day at a time.
One day at a time.

The E.N.D.
by the Black Eyed Peas
I have been looking forward to this album for a VERY long time. The Black Eyed Peas is an amazing group who’s every work I have genuine apprecaition for. This album is no exception. They have a good mix of amazing new sounds and classic BEP style hits. Along with that the double disc album features some remastered versions of classics like Pump It, Shut up and Don’t Phunk. It is amazing. Go listen, go love. -Peter

Matt & Kim

I was at Circa last night to see Cut Copy and these guys, Matt & Kim, opened. I only caught a bit of them but I loved them! Like the video, they LOVE the music they are making and are really enthusiastic about it. You know those really annoying people at concerts who are on E or Crack or something because of how crazy they are acting. I am one of those people (minus the drugs) who flip out and dance to the music that I love. Matt and Kim are totally a band that demonstrates this passion and enthusiasm for music. I hope this puts a spring in your step!
